The village - characterized by interesting rural architectural features typical of the 17th and 18th century - developed around the parish church of  Saint Augustine, funded in ancient times and rebuilt in the Baroque era. Together with the Church of Saint Anne (1634), it is the most remarkable monument of the town.

Val Cervia, the valley carved by the creek Cervio, lies within the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi (with an elevation that ranges from 1000 m a.sl. up to 2600 m a.s.l., on the boarder with the province of Bergamo), where the black woodpecker and the boreal owl make their nest. In winter this area is very popular among alpine skiers.
