VALMALENCO BERNINA - Bus shuttle Campo Moro

Following last November's landslide, the municipal road connecting the valley floor to Franscia and Campo Moro will remain closed throughout summer 2026.

To still provide access to Campo Moro, the shelters, mountain pastures, and trails of the Bernina mountain, the Municipality of Lanzada, together with shelters managers, local businesses, Sondrio and Valmalenco Tourist Consortium, has activated a special free shuttle service.
A different way of experiencing the mountains: slower, more immersive, closer to nature.

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS

1. Reach Tornadri-Lanzada by car: it is possible to reach by car the road closure area and you will be able to leave your vehicle in the dedicated areas.
2. Continue on foot: from the parking lot, you reach the shuttle's starting point by following a path in the woods.
• travel time: approximately 30-40 minutes
• route suitable for hikers and families accustomed to walking
• mountain clothing and footwear are recommended

3. Board the Bernina bus shuttle: 4 minibuses pick up you up to take you to Franscia or Campo Moro.

The service is: Free / Active every day - Operating from June 20th to mid-September - Available for return journey -  Maximum 32 seats available, approximately every 40 minutes

•  timetable in the scheduled time slots

ADDITIONAL SHUTTLE: on days of higher attendance, a further shuttle service: Vassalini – Tornadri. Departure from the area of the Vassalini sports field. The service will serve to reduce traffic and facilitate access to the landslide area.

ON FOOT, BY MTB OR E-BIKE
The entire Campo Moro and Bernina area can also be experienced actively and sustainably.
In fact, numerous itineraries will be available for: Mountain bike - E-bike - Hiking - Multi-day trekking
The main routes are marked on the map here below, allowing you to reach shelters, mountain pastures and panoramic points safely.
The uphill
to Campo Moro can become a part of the experience, immersed in the woods and views of the Valmalenco.

A NEW WAY OF EXPERIENCING THE MOUNTAIN
The temporary closure of the road changes habits, but also offers the opportunity to rediscover the mountains at a slower pace. Walking or cycling along the Valmalenco routes means immersing yourself in the woods, observing nature, experiencing silence, and enjoying extraordinary views.
As the Alpine Guides of Valmalenco also recall: “Closing a road can reopen a gaze.”
