Valle del Caldenno

Postalesio

The Caldenno valley - also known as Postalesio valley - is the typical U-shaped valley, formed by the process of glaciation. The Caldenno valley is a wonderful destination suitable for anyone, as the path that reaches the Alpe Caldenno has no particular difficulties.

In the pastures of Colina and Caldenno there are still the old dairymen's huts and the small buildings along the creek once used to keep the milk fresh during the butter making process.

The two-storey huts feature the typical double pitched roof covered in local stone.
The basement was used as a cattleshed, while the outdoor under-stairs room served as a pigsty. The raised groundfloor housed the fireplace, the cheese storage room and the dairymen's beds.
