MUSHROOMS... WHAT A PASSION!
Mushrooms are a group of living organisms, there are more than one hundred thousand species but only a few are edible because most are toxic or poisonous.
There are various types of mushrooms:
Porcini - Prataioli - Pleurotus (also known as Orecchine or Finferli) - Champignon - Pioppini - Ovoli
Collecting mushrooms is a passion for everyone, but everyone must know and respect some basic rules to protect their health and the forest that offers these delicious fruits. The consumption of mushrooms is often an occasion of great satisfaction not only for their preparation, but also for having provided "own" to their collection. It is therefore very important that these moments are not disturbed and ruined by episodes that can sometimes lead to tragedy. Every year, in fact, most of the fungal intoxications are caused by mushrooms harvested and not controlled.
Don’t trust your expertise: have the mushrooms checked by an ATS mycologist.
Here below you will find the addresses of the Mycological Inspectorates for the recognition service of wild mushrooms and other useful information.
The service is free.
