Honey

Today the passion for the fascinating world of bees sees the almost exclusive presence of small or tiny business realities, which above 1000 meters of altitude produce a truly excellent honey.

It is a product that marries the full-bodied honeys of the valley with the most rarefied taste of those of high mountains, with the presence of linden honeys which gives a particular balsamic note. Production is mainly focused on “millefiori” honey, while rhododendron stands out for its importance and value among monofloral honey. All honeys from Valtellina are guaranteed by the Beekeeping Producers Association of the Province of Sondrio.

The “millefiori” honey produced in Valtellina has organoleptic characteristics which, although varying according to location, vintage and harvest, maintain a bouquet and a particular aroma that create a common thread between the different areas of the province. Tasty and imaginative are, for example, the small batches of honey produced near the vineyards, while the honey produced on the Orobic side, where the shady and fresh undergrowth during the Summer opens its marvelous casket to the bees.
